DALLAS COWBOYS (4-1)
at GREEN BAY PACKERS (3-1)

Lambeau Field – Green Bay, WI
Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET
Line: Green Bay -4, Total: 47.5

The Cowboys will be looking to win their fifth straight game when they take on the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

The Cowboys have really surprised a ton of people with their start to this season, as not much was expected of them when Tony Romo went down and they still find themselves at 4-1 coming into this one. Dallas has won-and-covered in four straight contests and last week’s 28-14 win as a 2.5-point home underdog versus Cincinnati was especially impressive. The Cowboys held the Bengals to just 345 yards of total offense and Cincinnati is a team with a ton of weapons at the skill positions. Green Bay, however, has been playing some solid football as well. The Packers won-and-covered for the third time in four games in their 23-16 home victory over the Giants last week. Green Bay’s defense has been impenetrable against the run, allowing 50 or fewer rushing yards in all four of the team’s games this season. The Packers last faced Dallas on Dec. 13, 2015, and Green Bay won that game 28-7 as a six-point home favorite. The Packers are now 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS when hosting the Cowboys since 1992. One trend worth noting is that Mike McCarthy is 13-1 ATS after allowing 99 or fewer rushing yards in three straight games as coach of the Packers. WR Dez Bryant (Knee) is doubtful for Dallas in this game and RB Eddie Lacy (Ankle) is questionable for Green Bay.

When Romo went down with a fracture in his back, it seemed like the Cowboys were heading towards another miserable season. That was, however, until QB Dak Prescott (1,239 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT) and RB Ezekiel Elliott (546 yards, 5 TD) proved that they were ready to play at a high level immediately. Prescott is not a guy that takes many shots down the field, but he is big, athletic, and rarely turns the ball over. His ability to run has defenses on edge at all times and that has been a big element of this Dallas offense. Elliott, meanwhile, is the running back that the Cowboys have been missing since letting DeMarco Murray go. Elliott has rushed for over 130 yards in three straight games and has scored three touchdowns over the past two. Green Bay’s rushing defense is very good, but the Cowboys have one of the league’s best offensive lines and will be hoping to make some room for Elliott. Defensively, the Cowboys need their secondary to be ready to go on Sunday. The Packers have one of the best passing attacks in football and Dallas can’t afford to let Green Bay’s receivers get out of sight.

The Packers are coming off of an impressive win over the Giants and QB Aaron Rodgers (876 yards, 9 TD, 3 INT) has looked very good for Green Bay this year. Over the past two weeks, Rodgers has thrown for six touchdowns and only two interceptions. He should be able to find some success against this Cowboys secondary on Sunday as well. Dallas has played well against the pass this season, but the team has not faced a quarterback like Rodgers. WR Jordy Nelson (21 rec, 244 yards, 5 TD) is the guy that Rodgers will be looking to often in this one on Sunday. Nelson has caught a touchdown in all four games this season and he should find the end zone again this weekend. Defensively, Green Bay will need to keep up the good work against the run in this one. Ezekiel Elliott and this Cowboys offensive line pose the biggest threat in the running game that the Packers have seen this season. If they can hold Elliott to under 90 yards then that likely will mean that the Packers prevailed with a victory.
