LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS (53-22)

at PHOENIX SUNS (44-30)

Tip-off: Wednesday, 10:05 p.m. ET
Line: Even, Total: 214

The Clippers look to win their fourth straight road game when they face the Suns on Wednesday night.

Los Angeles come into this game as one of the hottest teams in the league, winning 16 of 18 SU (11-6-1 ATS) including three in a row on its current five-game road trip that concludes Wednesday. The team earned a 114-104 victory in Minnesota on Monday night thanks to 46% FG, 40% threes (12-of-30) and 81% free throws (26-of-32). Phoenix has been one of the biggest surprise NBA teams this season, and the club is finishing strong with a 6-1 SU record (5-2 ATS) in its past seven games. But the Suns ended March on a sour note on Sunday when the 9-point underdog Lakers crushed them 115-99 by outshooting them 53.0% FG to 38.5% FG. The Clippers' recent road surge improved their record away from home to 22-17 SU (24-14-1 ATS) while the Suns have been great in front of their fans; going 25-13 SU and 22-15-1 ATS (60%, 3rd in league). This contest will be the final one in the four-game season series between these two teams and the Clippers are 2-1 SU thus far while Phoenix has earned the 2-1 ATS edge. Los Angeles has gotten the best of the Suns in the past two games while shooting better than 51% from the floor in each win, one in Phoenix and one at home. Going back three seasons, L.A. is 6-5 SU (5-6 ATS) in this matchup with the total going under in 9-of-11 games. There are a few trends bettors should keep an eye on, as the Clippers are 25-13 ATS (66%) after one or more consecutive overs this season while the Suns, who are an NBA-best 48-25 ATS (66%) in all games this season, are 18-6 ATS (75%) following an ATS loss this season. Injuries could play a huge factor in this contest with PF Blake Griffin (Achilles) and SG Jamal Crawford (back) both expected to miss this game for L.A., while teammates SF Danny Granger (hamstring) and SG J.J. Redick are out indefinitely. Phoenix will continue to be without SG Leandro Barbosa (hand) and C Emeka Okafor (back)

The Clippers have excelled all season on the offensive side of the ball, as they lead the league with 107.6 PPG while hitting 47.5% of their field goals (4th in NBA). They are also very sound with their ball handling, producing 24.5 APG (3rd in league) and just 13.4 turnovers per game (8th in NBA). Their defense has not been quite as good this season, allowing their opponents to score 100.5 PPG (14th in league), but a lot of that has to do with the pace of their games, as L.A. limits teams to 44.1% FG (6th in NBA) and a league-best 33.3% threes. PG Chris Paul (19.0 PPG, 10.9 APG, 2.6 SPG) has averaged 27.7 PPG over his past three contests after his worst shooting performance of the season (0-for-12 FG) against New Orleans last Wednesday. He has struggled offensively this season in three games against the Suns though, scoring 14.0 PPG on 36% FG, but he does have 9.0 APG and 1.7 SPG. Paul has played much better over 28 career games in this series with 19.5 PPG (45% FG), 9.7 APG and 2.4 SPG. PF Blake Griffin (24.0 PPG, 9.6 RPG) did not play on Monday against the Timberwolves after hurting his back, but had scored 20+ points in 12 of 14 previous March contests. With 24.7 PPG (57% FG) in the three games against Phoenix this season, Griffin has continued his impressive scoring output, but has had trouble on the boards in those games, grabbing just 5.3 RPG. He will be greatly missed if he cannot go on Wednesday due to his back injury. C DeAndre Jordan (10.3 PPG, 13.9 RPG, 2.5 BPG) leads the league in both rebounds and shooting (66.9% FG) this season while grabbing a career-high 24 rebounds, netting 11 points and getting four blocks in his most recent game. He’s averaged 6.7 PPG (56% FG), 17.7 RPG and 2.3 BPG against the Suns in the 2013-14 campaign.

Phoenix has amazed everyone this season with its impressive play despite a supposed shallow roster and no superstars. The team is averaging 105.4 PPG (7th in the NBA) on 46.2% FG (8th in league) and 37.4% threes (6th in NBA), and has been even better over the past five games with 107.8 PPG on 48.0% FG and 40.5% threes. When the Suns have lost this season, it has been due to a poor defense that ranks eighth-worst in scoring (102.6 PPG). But just like the Clippers, this team knows how to guard long-range shooters, allowing just 33.8% threes, which ranks second in the league behind only Los Angeles. PG Goran Dragic (20.5 PPG, 5.9 APG, 1.3 SPG) has been the lifeblood of this club all season, and has been exceptional over his past three games with 24.7 PPG on 56% FG (10-of-21 threes). His three contests against the Clippers this season have been just as strong with 21.0 PPG (54% FG), 7.3 APG and 3.0 SPG. PG Eric Bledsoe (17.3 PPG, 5.7 APG, 4.7 RPG, 1.5 SPG) has given a boost to this team after missing 33 games with a meniscus injury, but he hit just 1-of-9 shots while scoring 10 points in the loss to the Lakers on Sunday. He has played just one game against his former team this season, posting a mere seven points on 3-of-10 shooting while adding four assists and two steals. PF Markieff Morris (13.8 PPG, 6.0 RPG) is coming off a big game against the Lakers (16 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks) and has 12.0 PPG (46% FG) and 7.3 RPG in the three meetings against the Clippers this season.
