The PGA Tour finishes up its Florida swing when the golfers head to Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational this weekend. This tourney is one of five on tour that is by invitation only and will boast a smaller field (120 golfers) than the usual full field (156). The event has been dominated by Tiger Woods since 2000, as he has won the tournament in eight of the past 14 years, including the previous two, where he recorded a 13-under par each time. His recent back issues will put his ability to repeat in question this week at the Par-72, 7,381-yard course. Let’s take a look at a few golfers who could take the crown away from him. Golfers to WatchJustin Rose (12/1): Rose looked strong this past week at the Valspar Championship, finishing in eighth place, but faltering on Sunday with a 3-over par. He has been stellar at this tournament over the past three years, with a runner-up performance last year and a third-place finish back in 2011. Rose should represent your largest wager of the weekend in terms of picking one golfer to earn a victory. Bubba Watson (12/1): Watson has been tearing it up this season and has placed in the top-10 in five of the seven events he has played in, including a win at the Northern Trust Open and runner-up performances in the Cadillac Championship and Waste Management Phoenix Open. As usual, Watson has been the longest player off the tee this season (318.6 yards per), while also ranking sixth on Tour in putts per hole (1.716) and 20th in greens hit in regulation (70.8%). Patrick Reed (30/1): Reed has hit the ground running in the PGA and is quickly making a name for himself with three victories over his past 14 tournaments. He joined the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia as the only players to win at least three times before their 24th birthday, and is playing with all the confidence in the world. Another victory here would instantly put Reed as a contender each and every week, so get him now before his price tag becomes too steep. Chesson Hadley (95/1): Hadley quietly earned his first PGA Tour win at the Puerto Rico Open while most of the big names were playing in the Cadillac Championship. He followed up the victory with a top-15 finish last week at the Valspar Championship and seems to be improving each and every week. Hadley is a risky pick at Bay Hill, but his three top-10 performances in 12 events this year are no fluke, and represents good value as a darkhorse pick this weekend.
