The Philadelphia Soul will look to overcome their first loss of the season at Georgia on Monday night, against the Force who has largely had a disappointing season. Philadelphia (9-1, 7-3 ATS) had a horrible scheduling situation, playing division rival Dallas, who was also unbeaten at the time, defeating them and having to turn around four days later on the road and lost to Cleveland. Georgia (4-5, 3-6 ATS) has not been able to piece together anything other than disappointment this year and are fighting for playoff lives in the National Conference, which has six teams over .500. Georgia started 0-2 to put themselves in a hole and has played better than record indicates since that point. In the Force’s four wins, they’ve won by almost 20 points per game, with three covers. The last three defeats have been by a total of 13 points. Georgia will come in 9-1 ATS after gaining 7.5 or more yards a play in two consecutive games. It will be interesting to see how Philadelphia responds to first loss of the year and they are 3-12 ATS against defenses like Georgia, who give up 52 or more points a game. The Soul has to go with quarterback Matt D'Orazio, who is the top rated QB in the AFL, with Tony Graziani officially on the injured reserve. D’Orazio has a bum ankle, but he is the kind of guy who will tape it up and get it done. The only issue here is mobility is one of his strengths and Georgia can generate a solid pass rush. Sportsbook.com has Georgia as 4.5-point home underdogs and with Total at 116.5. The Force is 6-0 ATS after scoring 38 points or more in the first half last game over the last two seasons. With Georgia averaging 307 yards per game, Philadelphia is 0-8 ATS versus offensive teams averaging 300 or more yards a game. Both teams defensive secondary’s are really beat up, leading one to believe points could be plentiful. The Soul is 14-3 OVER off an upset loss as a favorite, with Georgia 15-6 OVER after playing a game at home over the last three seasons. ESPN2 will broadcast this conflict starting at 8 Eastern.
