NEW YORK (AP) - All-Star David Wright has left the New York Mets' game in the 10th inning with an apparent hamstring injury after legging out an infield hit.

The third baseman, who was troubled by what he described as cramping in his hamstring during New York's recently completed series at Miami, raced to beat Kansas City second baseman Miguel Tejada's wild throw Friday night.

Wright came up lame a few steps from first base. He crossed the bag, unable to advance on the overthrow, and gingerly walked off after a trainer and Mets manager Terry Collins talked to him.

He was replaced at first by pitcher Zack Wheeler, who was stranded at third when John Buck hit into an inning-ending double play.

Wright hit a two-run homer in the first inning, tying Mike Piazza for second place on the franchise's home run list with his 220th.
