SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS at CHICAGO CUBS

The Cubs are due for a win streak.

Sunday, 8:00 p.m. ET
Ty Blach (3-4) vs. Yu Darvish (1-3)

Entering Friday night's slate of games, the Cubs had a season-long run differential of plus-62, a number that was fourth-best in the MLB. But at 25-21 in the competitive NL Central, Chicago's record was the fourth best in their own division. They'll look to pick up some momentum in a home series against the Giants this weekend, one that wraps up with a Sunday Night Baseball showdown. San Fran enters the weekend with a 24-26 record, but is actually fewer games back of their division lead than Chicago is—the NL West as a whole has struggled early on.

Sunday's pitching matchup pits Ty Blach of the Giants against Chicago's Yu Darvish. Darvish has had a tough couple of months to begin the year, failing to pitch five full innings in five of his eight starts. He had one of his better outings against Cincinnati last Sunday, giving up only one run in six innings to get his ERA down below 5.00. Blach has failed to pitch five full in each of his last three starts, so he hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire, either. Each pitcher on Sunday will be seeking some rhythm.

1B Brandon Belt has been an absolute force at the plate for the Giants this season, entering the weekend with an NL-best OPS of 1.009. San Francisco's team OPS of .726 is fifth-best in the National League. Chicago is first at .766, with 3B Kris Bryant and 2B Javier Baez leading the way.
