PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (10-1)
at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (7-4)

CenturyLink Field – Seattle, WA
Kickoff: Sunday, 8:30 p.m. ET
Line: Philadelphia -6.0, Total: 47.0

The Eagles will be hoping to improve to a ridiculous 11-1 with a Sunday night victory over the Seahawks in Seattle.

Philadelphia has been the league’s best team this season, and the Eagles have been absolutely dominating their opponents recently. Seattle has won five straight games by at least 10 points, which is something you don’t see very often in this league. The Eagles are brimming with confidence heading into this one and they are doing everything they can to make sure that they have home-field advantage in the postseason. The Seahawks, however, are also playing pretty well. Seattle has won two of its past three games, and that is with a number of injuries striking in the team’s secondary. The Seahawks are without both Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman for the remainder of the year, but they aren’t going to make any excuses. At 7-4, the team is still very much in contention for a playoff spot and has plenty of experience for once they potentially get there. One trend that favors Philadelphia in this game is the fact that Doug Pederson is 8-1 ATS after scoring 25 points or more in two straight games as coach of the Eagles. Pete Carroll, however, is a remarkable 12-4 ATS as a home underdog with the Seahawks.

The Eagles are trying to emerge as the top team in the NFC when the regular season comes to an end, but they need to keep winning games in order to do that. Fortunately for them, they’re getting the Seahawks at a good time. Seattle no longer has an elite secondary, as injuries have absolutely destroyed Pete Carroll’s defense. That means that QB Carson Wentz should be in for a huge game on Sunday. Wentz has been incredible in his second year in the league, and he has even played his way into MVP talks. He has been especially excellent over the past few weeks, as he has thrown for nine touchdowns and no picks in his last three games. Those games came against the Broncos, Cowboys and Bears, so it’s pretty impressive to see him doing it against solid defenses. Look for him to shred the Seahawks in this one. WR Alshon Jeffery should be able to help, as nobody on Seattle has the combination of size and speed to truly cover him. Defensively, the Eagles need to keep Russell Wilson from making too many plays with his legs. The Seahawks have no rushing game, so Philadelphia will have a good idea of what is coming before the snap.

The Seahawks are really not playing too well right now, but QB Russell Wilson has made sure that they continue to win games. Over the past five weeks, Wilson has thrown for 12 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He has also rushed for over 50 yards twice, and he has rushed for two touchdowns over the past five weeks. The way that he makes plays out of the pocket and in the running game has made Seattle extremely tough to cover. He’s helping make sure the team’s lack of a secondary does not completely crush them, as the Seahawks are capable of putting up a lot of points. WR Doug Baldwin and TE Jimmy Graham are also playing some great football this season, which helps Wilson make plays in the passing game. Defensively, the Seahawks are relying on mostly backups to help them in the secondary. It’s eventually going to make them pay, but they did hold their own against the 49ers last week. Seattle gave up just 13 in that game, but most offenses are going to be better than San Francisco’s. The team needs to figure out a way to stop opponent’s receivers moving forward. Things could get ugly against the Eagles.
