After a fun week at the AT&T Byron Nelson, the TOUR golfers head to Colonial Country Club for the Dean & DeLuca Invitational. Jordan Spieth will be one golfer that should be looking forward to this event, as Spieth won this thing with a 17-under last year. He defeated Harris English by three strokes, and his score was the best shot by any winner in this tournament over the past six years. The best score ever shot here was, however, a 21-under by Zach Johnson in 2010. Johnson tore it up in that event, and he’ll be back out there and hoping to do it again on Thursday. If he were to win then it would be his third time winning this event, which would have him standing alone for second-most wins here overall. First is Ben Hogan, who won in 1946, 1947, 1952, 1953, and 1959. Another guy that can take second is Phil Mickelson. Lefty has also won this tournament twice, and he’ll be hoping for his first victory of the season on Sunday. With that out of the way, let’s now take a look at some of the best value plays:

Jordan Spieth (12-to-1) - Jordan Spieth is still searching for his second win of the season, and this tournament represents as good a chance as any for the 23-year-old. Spieth is slumping a bit heading into this one, as he missed the cut at THE PLAYERS and finished tied for 77th at the AT&T Byron Nelson last week. Still, Spieth was so dominant on this course a year ago that it’s really hard to doubt him winning again. He shot a 17-under in that event, and it never looked like he was going to give up his place atop the leaderboard. At 12-to-1, he’s definitely worth backing.

Phil Mickelson (33-to-1) - As previously mentioned, Mickelson has won this event twice in his career. He took home the trophy in both 2000 and 2008, and he definitely has a chance to win it a third time on Sunday. Mickelson has had a pretty good season thus far, finishing inside the top-10 three times already. He has not, however, won any events yet, and that is definitely eating at Lefty. Well, there might not be a better chance than this one for Mickelson to win, and he is receiving some favorable odds at 33-to-1. He’s worth taking a chance on.

Zach Johnson (33-to-1) - Johnson has had a bit of a disappointing season, as the 41-year-old has not yet cracked the top-five at any tournaments. He is, however, going to be a very good value when he steps out on the course on Thursday. As mentioned earlier, Johnson set the course record for best score when he shot a 21-under at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational back in 2010. He won by three strokes that year, and it’s very possible that he’ll recapture some of that magic this weekend. The odds are certainly favorable at 33-to-1, so don’t be afraid to back him for a small amount.

Jhonattan Vegas (100-to-1) - When looking for a dark horse that stands out in this tournament, Vegas could be the guy. He’s getting some ridiculous odds at 100-to-1, and he is more talented than a lot of the guys ahead of him. Vegas has finished inside the top-10 twice this season, and he also has one finish inside the top-five. This course is one that really suits his style of play, so don’t be surprised if he is near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday. It’d only take something like a quarter of a unit to have a big payday if he were to win.
