SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (8-3-1)
at GREEN BAY PACKERS (6-6)

Lambeau Field – Green Bay, WI
Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET
Line: Seattle -3.0, Total: 45.5

The Packers will be going for their third straight win when they host the Seahawks on Sunday.

Seattle is coming off of an impressive victory over Carolina, as the Seahawks beat the Panthers 40-7 as eight-point home favorites. They held Carolina to just 271 yards of total offense in that game, and the team will need to put forth another excellent defensive effort against Green Bay in this one. The Packers are rolling right now, as they have now won two straight games. They are right back in the NFC North race and a win on Sunday would be huge for them. Seattle is 2-1 SU (1-2 ATS) when facing Green Bay over the past three seasons, but the Packers are 6-1 SU and 4-2-1 ATS when hosting the Seahawks since 1992. They last faced Seattle on Sep. 20, 2015, and Green Bay won that game 27-17 as a three-point home favorite. One ridiculous trend worth pointing out for this game is that the Seahawks are 16-1 ATS in the second half of the season versus teams giving up 24 or more points per game under head coach Pete Carroll. The Packers, however, are an impressive 28-9 ATS versus teams that average 60 or more penalty yards per game under head coach Mike McCarthy.

The past two games haven’t been great for QB Russell Wilson (3,142 yards, 12 TD, 5 INT), who has thrown for only one touchdown with three picks in those contests. Wilson will need to be more careful with the ball in this one, as the Packers offense is red-hot and he doesn’t want to give them any extra possessions. One guy that just might be in for a huge game in this one is RB Thomas Rawls (226 yards, 2 TD). Rawls is finally healthy for Seattle, and he rushed for 106 yards with two touchdowns in the blowout victory over the Panthers last week. The Seahawks are going to pound the ball with him often in this game, and it’s just important that he holds onto the ball. Defensively, it’ll be hard for the Seahawks to get over the loss of S Earl Thomas (Leg). They do, however, still have as much talent on that side of the ball as any team in the league. DE Michael Bennett (25 tackles, 3.0 sacks) and CB Richard Sherman (4 INT) will need to be ready to go on Sunday. Bennett needs to get as much pressure as possible on Rodgers, while Sherman must make him pay for any mistakes he makes on his side of the field.

The Packers have won two straight games and things look to finally be breaking the right way for this team. One thing that has been constant has, however, been the excellent play of QB Aaron Rodgers (3,283 yards, 29 TD, 7 INT). Over the past two games, Rodgers has thrown for four touchdowns with no interceptions. He’ll need to continue to play mistake-free football for this team moving forward. The main target for Rodgers should continue to be WR Jordy Nelson (69 rec, 872 yards, 10 TD). Nelson is second in the league in receiving touchdowns, and he’ll be hoping to get himself into that top spot before the season is over. It won’t be easy against the Seahawks secondary, but it’s hard to imagine him not finding at least a few holes in this one. Defensively, the Packers need to limit the big plays from Russell Wilson in the passing game. They also can’t allow him to shred them with his legs.
