PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (5-4)
at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (6-2-1)

CenturyLink Stadium– Seattle, WA
Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET
Line: Seattle -6.0, Total: 42.5

The Seahawks will be looking for their third straight win when they host Carson Wentz and the Eagles on Sunday.

Philadelphia desperately needed a victory last week and ended up beating Atlanta 24-15 as a two-point home favorite. The Eagles had lost four of their previous five games before that one, so they did some serious damage control by coming away with the win. Things won’t be easy this weekend, though. The Eagles now travel to Seattle and will be taking on a Seahawks team that beat the Patriots 31-24 as 7.5-point road underdogs last week. Seattle has won two straight games, and this team has been outstanding offensively recently. Over the past two weeks, the Seahawks are averaging 31.0 PPG. With their defense, they’re going to be pretty much unbeatable when they’re scoring like that. The Eagles and Seahawks last met one another on Dec. 7, 2014, and Seattle won that game 24-14 as a one-point road favorite. The Seahawks are 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS when facing the Eagles since 1992, but Philadelphia has actually had success when playing in Seattle. The Eagles are 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS when facing the Seahawks in Washington since 1992, but things have gotten tougher at CenturyLink Stadium over the past few years. TE Zach Ertz (Undisclosed) and LB Mychal Kendricks (Foot) are questionable for this game for the Eagles. For the Seahawks, RB Thomas Rawls (Leg) is set to make his return to the field.

QB Carson Wentz (2,121 yards, 9 TD, 5 INT) did not throw a touchdown against the Falcons last week, but he didn’t throw a pick either. That was an improvement for the rookie, as he was intercepted twice against the Giants two games ago. Wentz hasn’t necessarily been bad, though. He does not have enough of talent around him, and that won’t be helped by the fact that Zach Ertz (29 rec, 302 yards) could be missing on Sunday. Over the past two weeks, Ertz had caught 14 passes for 152 yards. He generally comes on in the second half of the year, so it’d be a big loss for this team if he’s out. Wentz will, however, have to do what he can with what’s available. WR Jordan Matthews (48 rec, 580 yards, 3 TD) is the weapon that is most likely to make an impact this weekend. Over the past three games, Matthews has hauled in 23 receptions for 226 yards and a touchdown. This matchup with the Seahawks isn’t ideal, but he can’t afford not to make plays on Sunday. Defensively, this Eagles team needs to get after Russell Wilson. If he is able to sit in the pocket comfortably then he will pick Philadelphia apart in this one.

The Seahawks are coming off of their most impressive victory of the season and QB Russell Wilson (2,442 yards, 10 TD, 2 INT) has found his groove over the past two weeks. Wilson threw for 282 yards with two touchdowns and no picks against the Bills two weeks ago, and he followed it up with 348 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Pats last week. He also added a touchdown on the ground against the Bills. Wilson should have no trouble tearing apart the Eagles on Sunday. Their defense is nowhere near as good as that of the Bills and Patriots, but Wilson will still need to be careful in this one. He is finally healthy and Seattle can’t afford to let that change anytime soon. WR Doug Baldwin (50 rec, 629 yards, 5 TD) has enjoyed the Wilson emergence very much. Baldwin caught six passes for 59 yards and three touchdowns against the Patriots. It was his second straight six-reception game, and he should find some space against Philly this weekend. TE Jimmy Graham (42 rec, 593 yards, 3 TD) has also been a force as of late. Graham had eight catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills two weeks ago. Baldwin did the heavy lifting against the Patriots, but it could easily be Graham again on Sunday. Defensively, this Seahawks team is as good as any in the country. They’ll get after Carson Wentz and do what they can to cause chaos in the secondary.
