Switzerland hosts Belgium in an international friendly before Euro 2016.

With the 2016 UEFA European Championship around the corner, both Switzerland and Belgium will be looking for valuable preparation matches leading up to the real competition. Switzerland, which will be in Group A alongside France, Romania, and Albania, does not have a particularly experienced goalkeeper, but will likely decide between Yann Sommer and Roman Burki, both of whom should see action in this friendly. In defense, the Swiss are led by Stephan Lichsteiner of Juventus, Johan Djourou, Philippe Senderos, and Ricardo Rodriguez, with Fabian Schar another option. The midfield is talented and led by recent Arsenal acquisition Granit Xhaka. Gelson Fernandes, Xherdan Shaqiri, Blerim Dzemaili, and Valon Behrami could also see action in the center of the park. Up front, the Swiss can call on Eren Derdiyok and Haris Seferovic to score goals, while youngster Breel Embolo could force his way into the lineup with a strong showing. Belgium will start Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois in net, and the defense will likely feature Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham, along with Thomas Vermaelen and Nicolas Lombaerts. While all naturally center backs, this is the Red Devils’ most talented group at the back. In midfield, Marouane Fellaini, Axel Witsel, Mousa Dembele, Radja Nainggolan, and Kevin De Bruyne will all see action, with Romelu Lukaku expected to lead the line. International friendlies can be a bit tame, but with the offensive talent in this match over 2.5 goals should be scored. Neither team will be gunning for the win, and an entertaining 2-2 draw will have to do.
