KANSAS JAYHAWKS (25-4, 13-3 Big 12)

at TEXAS LONGHORNS (19-10, 10-6 Big 12)

Frank Erwin Center - Austin, TX
Tip-off: Monday, 9:00 p.m. ET
Line: Kansas -1.5, Total: 141

Red-hot Kansas seeks a 10th straight win on Monday night when it visits a surging Texas team.

The Jayhawks (17-9 ATS overall) are 8-1 ATS during their nine-game win streak, with their lone ATS loss coming on Saturday when they defeated 13.5-point underdog Texas Tech by a 67-58 score. A win on Monday would give them 12 straight Big 12 regular-season titles and would match UCLA's record run from 1967-79. But the Longhorns (15-13 ATS) won't go down easy, as they are fresh off taking down then-No. 3 Oklahoma 76-63 on Saturday, marking their NCAA-best fourth win versus an AP top-10 team this season. Their amazing 22-0 second-half run on Saturday also improved their home record to 14-2 SU (8-7 ATS). Kansas has dominated this series recently with nine wins in the past 10 matchups, including four in a row, but Texas holds the 6-4 ATS advantage in this timeframe. When these schools met on Jan. 23 in Lawrence, the Longhorns led by five at halftime, but the Jayhawks outscored their opponent 46-32 in the second half, thanks largely to a 24-6 run in the second half. Texas outshot its opponent 48% FG to 40% FG, but Kansas dominated second-chance points (19-5) with a 13-5 offensive rebounding advantage. There are plenty of betting trends for both schools on Monday, as the Jayhawks are 13-5 ATS with 79.8 PPG versus good defensive teams this season (42% or less FG allowed) and 13-4 ATS after a win streak of 2+ games this season. The Longhorns are 14-4 ATS after a double-digit home win in the past two seasons, and are also 7-0 ATS after 15+ games this season when facing an opponent with a winning percentage of at least 80%. There are no new injuries for either team in this matchup.

The experts continue to flourish with a strong 60% ATS record (88-58-4) in the past six weeks, led by StatFox Dave at 66% ATS (19-10-1) and StatFox Zach going 59% ATS (17-12-1) over this timeframe. StatFox Brian has been on fire for nearly three months with a stellar 63% ATS record (34-20-1) in the past 11 weeks. StatFox Gary is also sizzling, going 66% ATS (29-15-1) over the past nine weeks. StatFox Scott is heating up too, evidenced by a 60% ATS (12-8) record in Best Bets over the past four weeks.

Kansas has an explosive offense that has generated 81.6 PPG (16th in nation) on 49% FG (13th in D-I) and 42% threes (4th in nation) this season. The Jayhawks are very efficient with 15.9 APG and only 12.4 TOPG, which equals a strong 1.3 Ast/TO ratio. The defense allows a pedestrian 67.9 PPG, but limits opponents to 40% FG (29th in D-I) and 33% threes. During the team's nine-game win streak, it has poured in 76.9 PPG on 50% FG and 41% threes, while limiting opponents to just 64.9 PPG on 38% FG and 31% threes. However, the Jayhawks have done a poor job forcing turnovers during the past seven games with only 4.4 SPG (6 or less each game) and 10.4 forced TOPG (14 or less each game), and that should continue versus the Longhorns, who have a conference-low 10.5 turnovers per game. Kansas has four main scorers it relies on with F Perry Ellis (16.1 PPG, 6.1 RPG), G Wayne Selden Jr. (13.4 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 2.5 APG), G Frank Mason III (13.6 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 4.5 APG, 1.4 SPG) and G Devonte' Graham (10.9 PPG, 3.7 APG, 1.3 SPG). Although Ellis' streak of 23 straight double-figure scoring games ended on Saturday (8 points vs. Texas Tech), the senior dominated Texas last month with 26 points, including 17 in the second half. Ellis also scored 28 points in his previous meeting with the Longhorns last season. Selden also played great in the Jan. 23 win over Texas with 19 points (4-of-8 threes) and five rebounds. But since lighting up Kentucky for 33 points on Jan. 30, Selden has gone cold in February with only 8.3 PPG on 35% FG, 22% threes (8-of-37) and 45% FT (10-of-22) in eight games. The junior Mason has scored at least 14 points in each of the past six contests (15.5 PPG), including 16+ points in three straight games. Mason has also scored a consistent 14, 12, 12 and 13 points in his past four meetings with the Longhorns. Graham has been outstanding in running the offense with a 2.6 Assist/Turnover ratio this season (4th in Big 12), and had a strong 14 points and six assists in last month's win over Texas. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (5.8 PPG, 39% threes) could also be a big factor on Monday, as he's coming off a team-high 17 points versus Texas Tech, which was his most ever versus a D-I school. He drained all five of his three-point attempts, making him 9-for-11 from long range in the past three games.

The Texas offense scores only 72.6 PPG (189th in nation) on 44% FG (190th in D-I), 34% threes (188th in nation) and 67% FT (275th in D-I) this season, but it has knocked down 77% FT over the past nine contests. The Longhorns’ defense is pretty tough with 67.8 PPG allowed (75th in nation) on 41% FG (71st in D-I) and 34% threes (133rd in nation). This is a very smart and efficient team that commits only 10.5 turnovers per game (20th in D-I), while forcing 12.5 TOPG and collecting 4.4 BPG (62nd in nation). Junior PG Isaiah Taylor (15.5 PPG, 5.0 APG, 2.8 RPG) does a great job of getting to the basket and leads the Big 12 with 145 made free throws this season. Taylor has 37 points (16-of-17 FT), nine assists and two turnovers during his team's two-game winning streak and has done it all against Kansas over the past three meetings with 17.7 PPG (47% FG, 13-of-16 FT), 5.7 RPG and 4.7 APG. Seniors G Javan Felix (11.1 PPG, 2.2 APG) and F Connor Lammert (6.9 PPG, 5.4 RPG) both make 36% threes and more than 80% free throws this season, and both will need to drain long-range shots on Monday. Felix is closing out his final season in style with 13.0 PPG over his past seven games, but is coming off a season-high five turnovers versus Oklahoma on Saturday. The duo combined for 27 points versus Kansas last month, with Lammert chipping in a career-high 15 points (5-of-7 threes). He then matched that 15-point total three games later at Baylor, and is coming off a huge game in Saturday's upset of the Sooners with 14 points (4-of-7 threes) and eight rebounds. G Eric Davis Jr. (7.9 PPG, 2.6 RPG) has had some big moments as a freshman, and has recorded four straight games of 10+ points (11.5 PPG) thanks to 9-of-16 threes. C Prince Ibeh (4.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 2.0 BPG) has played very well filling in for injured C Cameron Ridley (12.7 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 3.4 BPG). Ibeh had seven points, seven rebounds and seven blocks versus Kansas last month.
