PITTSBURGH STEELERS (6-4)
at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (5-5)

Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET
Line: Seattle -4, Total: 45.5

Two banged-up playoff teams from 2014 will each look to keep their 2015 playoff hopes alive when the Steelers travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.

Pittsburgh (6-4 SU, 5-3-2 ATS) beat AFC North rival Cleveland 30-9 in Week 10, prior to their bye week last Sunday, winning their first game ATS since Week 6. The Steelers were held to just 60 rushing yards by the Browns’ defense, a season-low, but also held the Browns to 15 yards rushing, their fewest rushing yards allowed in a game since allowing 14 yards in Week 16 of the 2012 season. Seattle (4-6 SU, 3-6-1 ATS) covered their 2nd double-digit favorite spread of the season last week, knocking off their NFC West division rival 49ers 29-13, their 3rd victory in their last four games after starting the season 2-4. The Seahawks’ ground game racked up 253 yards, a season-high, while allowing just 59 yards, just their 2nd time holding an opponent under 60 yards this season. The trends and head-to-head history lean towards Seattle’s favor, notably a 3-0 record SU and ATS against Pittsburgh since 1992. The Seahawks are also 14-5 ATS in the 2nd half of the season dating back to 2013. Russell Wilson is 22-11 ATS in his last 33 home games, while Ben Roethlisberger is just 16-21 ATS in his last 37 road games. Pete Carroll is 10-1 ATS as a home favorite of 3.5 to 7 points as coach of the Seahawks, as well as 30-15 ATS in the 2nd half of the season. The Steelers have been battling the injury bug all season, and Sunday will be no different as TE Matt Spaeth, S Shamarko Thomas, and LB James Harrison are all questionable (knee), as is C Maurkice Pouncey (ankle). For the Seahawks, WR Paul Richardson is questionable (hamstring) while RB Marshawn Lynch, who missed the 49ers’ game, is listed as doubtful (abdominal).

This season, the four experts have a profitable 54% ATS collective record (84-71-7) in NFL Best Bets. StatFox Gary is leading the way at 60% ATS (21-14-2) this season, while StatFox Brian is 54% ATS (22-19-3). In terms of NFL Totals, Gary continues his strong season with a perfect 3-0 mark in Week 11 to improve to 59% (16-11) for the year.

The Steelers enter Sunday’s game averaging 126.1 rushing YPG (6th in the NFL), courtesy of five games going over 140 yards. Meanwhile, their defense has allowed just 93 rushing YPG (5th in the NFL), courtesy of six games holding opponents to 80 rushing yards or fewer. The same cannot be said for their ability to pass, nor stop the pass. Pittsburgh is averaging a pedestrian 258.8 passing YPG (13th in NFL), while allowing 278.4 passing YPG (28th in NFL). The Steelers have also converted on just 34.7% of their 3rd down attempts (25th in NFL). Despite the passing struggles, Antonio Brown has once again been a stud for Pittsburgh’s offense, and is currently 2nd in the league in receptions, receiving yards, and YAC.

Seattle will test Pittsburgh’s run defense early and often. The Seahawks come in to the game averaging 148.6 rushing YPG (1st in NFL) and have rushed for at least 110 yards in every single game this season, including their season high last week without the services of Marshawn Lynch. The Seahawks will have no problem feeding Thomas Rawls the ball, as the undrafted rookie has looked like a superstar in his time on the field this season. Russell Wilson will also see an expanded role in the offense until Lynch is healthy and ready to return. The Seahawks defense that led the league in 2014 and 2013 is as stout as ever this season, allowing 303.6 total YPG (2nd in the league). They’ve also excelled at getting off the field on 3rd downs, allowing a conversion rate of 32.3% (4th in NFL).
