MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (43-28)

at GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (44-27)

Tip-off: Friday, 10:35 p.m. ET
Line: Golden State -2.5, Total: 188.5

The Grizzlies play their second of five straight games away from home when they visit the “Splash Brothers” and the rest of the Warriors on Friday night.

Memphis is one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, coming away with a SU victory in 11 of its past 14 games (8-6 ATS). The team has won its past three contests coming into this one, including a 91-87 win in Utah on Wednesday night. The Grizzlies were unable to cover the 8.5-point spread on the road and needed to come back in the contest after entering the fourth quarter down by nine. Golden State has also been playing solid of late and is 8-3 SU (5-6 ATS) since March 4. The Warriors hosted the Spurs, the best team in the Western Conference, on Saturday, and lost 99-90 despite being the 3.5-point favorite. Golden State did play well defensively in the game though, allowing the Spurs to shoot just 39% from the field, but turned the ball over 18 times. Memphis’ most recent win brought its season record to 20-14 SU and 18-15 ATS when playing on the road while the Warriors' loss to San Antonio lowered their home record to 23-12 SU (15-18 ATS). This contest will be the fourth meeting between these teams this season and Memphis is 2-1 (SU and ATS) in those games. Golden State earned a rare win in series back on Dec. 7, outscoring the Grizzlies 108-92 as a two-point favorite on the road while shooting 50% from the field; including 8-of-18 threes. The win was only the Warriors second SU victory against Friday's opponent over their past 12 attempts. Playing in Memphis has been even tougher, as the Grizzlies had won their previous nine games there in this series before taking the loss in December. Injuries could be a difference maker in this game, as the Warriors will be without SF Andre Iguodala (knee) who is out indefinitely, while PF David Lee (hamstring) is questionable. There are no significant injuries for visiting Memphis.

Memphis brings one of the best defenses in the league to this game as it is allowing opponents to score just 93.9 PPG (3rd in NBA) this season, dropping that number to 85.4 PPG (42% FG) over its past five contests. The Grizzlies' offense, on the other hand, has not been the best, scoring just 95.6 PPG (5th-worst in league), but have hit for 103+ points in three of their past five games. PG Mike Conley (17.2 PPG, 6.0 APG, 1.5 SPG) has been tearing up opposing defenses over the past five games, scoring 18.6 PPG (53% FG), and has averaged 17.0 PPG in the three games against Golden State this season. Over his 23 career games against them, he has not done quite as good, averaging 13.4 PPG (45% FG) and 5.9 APG. PF Zach Randolph (17.3 PPG, 10.2 RPG) has a double-double in four of his past five contests and is coming off a big game (22 points, 13 rebounds) on Wednesday against the Jazz. He’s done well over 31 career games (24 starts) against the Warriors, scoring 16.1 PPG (48% FG) while grabbing 9.1 RPG. C Marc Gasol (13.9 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 1.4 BPG) is looking healthier every day and has put together a solid past five games (15.2 PPG, 8.8 RPG). He played in two of the three meetings with Golden State this season, netting 18.0 PPG (48% FG) to go along with 9.0 RPG and 3.5 BPG.

Golden State has scored 103.5 PPG (10th in NBA) this season while hitting 37.4% of its long-range shots (6th in league). On the defensive side of things, the Warriors have also looked very strong, allowing opponents to score just 98.9 PPG (8th in NBA). But they have struggled to stop opponents over their past five contests, giving up 102.6 PPG on 45% FG. PG Stephen Curry (23.5 PPG, 8.5 APG, 1.6 SPG) has made the most threes in the NBA this season (219) and has scored at least 20 points in each of his past five games (27.6 PPG). His career numbers of 20.5 PPG (48% FG) and 7.1 APG over 14 games (13 starts) have not been enough to get many wins against Memphis. PF David Lee (18.5 PPG, 9.4 RPG) is dealing with a sore hamstring, but still has a double-double in two of his past three games. He will be greatly missed if he cannot suit up against the Grizzlies as he has 18.0 PPG (50% FG), 9.3 RPG and 1.7 BPG over the three meetings in 2013-14. SG Klay Thompson (18.2 PPG, 41% threes) ranks third in the league in three-pointers made (189) and has scored 20+ points in three of his past four games (23.0 PPG). He has hit only 15-of-44 threes (34%) while scoring 13.4 PPG (44% FG) in 10 career games (7 starts) in this matchup, but has been much better (21.0 PPG) in three games against Memphis this season.
