SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) -- San Francisco Giants shortstop Omar Vizquel left Saturday's game against Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth inning after fouling a ball off his left foot.
The 41-year-old made contact with a pitch from Brewers reliever Mitch Stetter and collapsed to the ground. He continued the at-bat and worked a walk, but Ivan Ochoa came in as a pinch-runner.
Earlier this season, Vizquel set the major league record for most games played at shortstop and extended that mark to 2,618 games Saturday.
Vizquel is batting .167 with no homers and 10 RBI in 48 games this season. |
