Jets cut Thomas, who reported playbook stolen
ORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Jets have released cornerback Josh Thomas, a day after he wrote on Twitter that his playbook and passport were stolen.

The Jets also signed safety Rontez Miles from the practice squad Tuesday and signed linebacker Mario Harvey to the practice squad.

Thomas made an appeal on Twitter on Monday for the items to be returned. A Jets spokesman confirmed that Thomas' team-issued tablet - on which his playbook is stored - was stolen Sunday night in New Jersey. The Jets remotely erased the playbook information from Thomas' tablet.

It's not clear whether the incident played any role in his departure. Thomas played in just one game after being signed in October. He was inactive for five of the eight games he was on the roster.
