Washington visits PhiladelphiaThe NFL season has come down to its final weekend and just a few playoff questions remain unanswered. By the time Philadelphia and Washington kickoff at 4:15 PM on Sunday from Lincoln Financial Field, there may be just one postseason spot left to fill. The Redskins essentially control their own destiny for making the playoff party, be it TBD by division winner or wildcard. However, the Eagles would like nothing more at this point than to spoil it for their bitter rival. With so much on the line from Philly, StatFox is offering this contest as our FREE NFL FoxSheet of the Week.
Washington has been installed as a 7-point road favorite, and for good reason, as it has been one of the hottest teams in the league, winning four straight to climb back into playoff contention. The Redskins come in with a 4-1 record vs. the NFC East, and depending upon the Giants result against Oakland on Saturday, could be playing for that division title. Sadly, for Philadelphia, the 2005 season has been a nightmare, highlighted by the fact that it is still in search of its first win against division competition. Relegated to the role of spoiler, the Eagles are backed by a set of decent Super Situations, including this one:
Play Against - Favorites (WASHINGTON) - after 2 or more consecutive wins, a marginal winning team (51% to 60%) playing a losing team in the second half of the season.
(55-28 since 1983.) (66.3%, +24.2 units. Rating = 2*)
There's plenty of more analysis to chew on to help get you prepared for when these teams meet on Sunday at 4:15 PM ET. Get it all by visiting the FREE NFL FoxSheet of the Week. |
