Minnesota at Green Bay
Bitter divisional rivals will meet for the third time this Sunday as Green Bay hosts Minnesota in a game which figures to have all of the excitement of the first two contests. Incidentally, the Packers won both of those games, but only by three points in each. In fact, Green Bay kicker Ryan Longwell booted last second field goals each time to give his team 34-31 wins. The latter matchup, played on Christmas Eve at the Metrodome, decided the NFC North Division title, a prize the Packers grabbed for the third straight year. Now the rematch is moved outdoors, to historic Lambeau Field, and with playoff advancement on the line, the stakes are even higher. The hosts have been installed as a 5-1/2 point favorite, with the total set at 49. This NFC Wildcard showdown is the FREE NFL FoxSheet of the week.

If momentum is what decides the outcome of this game, then Green Bay, 10-6 on the year, has a gargantuan advantage, coming in as winners of 9 of its last 11 games. Alternatively, Minnesota faded badly down the stretch in typical Vikings fashion, losing seven of its last 10 games. Unlike a year ago however, they still managed to back their way into the playoffs at 8-8. Still, with every team's record wiped clean, they have as much of a chance as anyone. One thing in the Vikings favor this week is that the game figures to be a shootout between star QB's Brett Favre and Daunte Culpepper. Both teams' defensive units were much maligned this season, each giving up nearly 25 PPG on the year, and the regular season contests of these teams served as a microcosm of their 2004 campaigns. Ironically, the Packers' defensive performance, and overall for that matter, was worse on the home field. Having gone just 10-7 on the "Frozen Tundra" over the last two seasons, Green Bay will be desperately seeking to regain some home field advantage. Meanwhile, Minnesota will be seeking to break a well known and brutal trend of 23 losses in its last 25 road games outdoors.

The FREE ATS FoxSheet is loaded with plenty of great trends, situations, and statistics. Be sure to click on the links next to the Packers logo for all of the key money line, teaser line, and first half line analysis as well. From all indications on the sheets, the game figures to be a barnburner. One StatFox Game Estimator projects a relatively easy win by the hosts, while the other model indicated Minnesota has a shot at the upset. A simple playoff trend like this could make the difference:

MINNESOTA is 1-5 ATS (-4.5 Units) in road games in playoff games since
  1992.
The average score was MINNESOTA 17.8, OPPONENT 34.5
