This weekend's FREE College Football FoxSheet turns its attention to the Big East as No. 12 West Virginia aims for a 10th consecutive conference victory when it hosts lowly Temple on Saturday. The Mountaineers have suffered just one setback this year against seven victories and appear poised to grab the Big East's automatic BCS berth. However, after facing the Owls, they'll need to deal with perennial rivals Boston College and Pittsburgh. Coach Rich Rodriguez hopes to guard his team against "lookahead". For Temple, the 2004 campaign has been as miserable as any in recent memory. The Owls are just 1-7 and with three difficult games remaining, may have already enjoyed their only triumph. To make matters worse, they've only beaten West Virginia once in the last 13 series meetings. Mercifully, they've covered the last five games in Morgantown.
West Virginia has made their recipe for success no secret; running the football. Behind RB Kay Jay Harris and QB Rasheed Marshall, the Mountaineers are averaging 261.6 yards per game on the ground, good for fifth in the nation. They are also outscoring teams by a healthy 16 PPG margin. At home, that scoring differential bounces up to 23 PPG. Temple on the other hand is being beat by over 16 PPG overall and allowing 185 yards per game on the ground. Therefore, it is no surprise to see WVU projected for 323 rushing yards and 53 points this week, which would almost certainly be enough to cover an inflated 28 point number, especially with the hosts in BCS impressing mode. Besides that, the FoxSheet also offers this solid trend:

This week's FREE NFL FoxSheet highlights the showdown between 7-0 Philadelphia and 6-1 Pittsburgh. These top teams in their respective conferences battle this week in what could ultimately prove to be a preview of an all-Pennsylvania Super Bowl. The Eagles have bolted out to a perfect start behind the combination of Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens who have hooked up for nine TD scores this year. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has turned once again to power football and defense to regain its spot among the top teams in the league. For good measure, the Steelers are also getting outstanding play from their rookie quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. After knocking off unbeaten New England at home last Sunday, host Pittsburgh is anxious to do the same again this week to its cross state rival.
Philadelphia opened as a 2-point road favorite in this showdown, right in line with what the StatFox Power Ratings indicate. That line quickly moved down to 1 and has stabilized since. This is the fourth time in 2004 that the Eagles will be playing as road chalk and they are 2-1 ATS in the prior three. They are also an impressive 5-2 against the number overall, but both of those ATS losses came in the two most recent games and hence they could be ripe for the picking here. Pittsburgh has won five games in a row, both SU & ATS, and has gone OVER in six of 7 games so far. The Steelers are backed by a laundry list of solid analysis and actually qualify for the famous FoxSheets NFL Star System in this game. Among the best trends is this one:
PITTSBURGH is 19-4 ATS (+14.6 Units) vs. good passing teams averaging 7 or more passing yards/att. since 1992. The average score was PITTSBURGH 24.2, OPPONENT 17.9 - (Rating = 3*)
